I have a confession to make. I am addicted to God’s Word!!

My sister and I had an interesting conversation last weekend. We were talking about our love for God’s Word. I told her that I crave it like nothing else (even more than chocolate!!!). I need it in my life more than I need anything else! This “love affair” started 13 1/2 years ago when our son died. I love what the Psalms says about God’s Word:

Psalm 63
O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.

I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.

Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.

I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.

My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
With singing lips my mouth will praise you.

On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night.

Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.

My soul clings to you;
Your right hand upholds me.

WOW!! I want to seek God and his word with everything in me-I want my soul to thirst for HIM and my body to long for HIM. I spent a  lot of time in God’s word this summer. It truly is transforming my life. My heart is so gross that I wonder where I would be without His word. 

I read something in the book Pastor Jesse gave us to read. “Radical” by David Platt (the Adult Sunday School classes are going to be doing this GREAT study!) “I pray that we will be a people who refuse to gorge our spiritual stomachs on the entertaining pleasure of this world, because we have chosen to find our satisfaction in the eternal treasure of His Word.  I pray that God will awaken in your heart and mine a deep and abiding passion for the gospel as the grand revelation of God”. (page 40).

I want my satisfaction to only come from

God and his Word. I love to hear what people are learning from God’s word. Come share with me!!

COME PLAY WITH US!! Our new playground equipment has been installed and looks great. The children are having a blast playing on it!!! I want to thank Adobe Montessori Preschool in Chandler, AZ for donating this wonderful playground equipment (estimated value at $15,000). And also thank Dave Kaufmann and Max Merritt for coordinating the installation of it-thanks guys!! God is so good and answered prayers with this playground.
